location, location, location

We're looking for a location to shoot the next music video. Imagine a cross between Raging Bull & the Radiohead video, Street Spirit and if you throw into that mix some character (that'll be estate agent jargon for 'bit of a sh1th0le') then we would like to hear from you.

Can't imagine why any of you wholesome lot would know of such a den of inequity...hmmmmm

best unsigned bands of 2007

I implore you to stick with this:

Thanks to everyone for screaming their pants off at The Carling Academy on Tuesday, it seems to have gone down very well with the suits. Got some photos on the way which I'll upload with some news as soon they/it arrives.

There are reports coming in that 'Chav Song' was played on BBC 2 the other morning. In what context I'm not sure but I'm regularly checking the post for the royalty cheque...no sign as yet.

We also got played on Garry Bushells' 'best unsigned & independent bands of 2007' podcast on the 11th. You can hear what he had to say about us by clicking here and following the link to Garry's Rancid Sounds podcast. The show is an unusually good platform for new music - well worth checking out and The MüVs are the first band played on the 11th September show.

You can now find The MüVs at sellaband. This is a platform where 'believers' pledge their support of a band in crisp green $$$$, find out more byclicking the banner:

making babies

Been dead busy like. Auditions for the new full time bass player are going well, come see for yourself on 11th September at the Carling Academy, we're on at 8:30pm and in the bar till it closes. Tickets can be reserved if you email me at jonno@themuvs.com and picked up in the bar beforehand.

We've also done a limited run of MüVs T-shirts which you can get for a fiver at the brand new muvs dot com. The new site features the usual music, news, gigs & shop etc. aswell as plenty of other fancy pants stuff. We're really, really keen on making it as interactive as possible. Anything you'd like to see added or pictures/videos you'd like us to upload then get in touch via info@themuvs.com and as long as it's not completely filthy, we'll put it up. It took me ages to draw a picture of a t-shirt for the site so I've included it here to make me feel a bit better about the hours I spent fiddling with a mouse.

That said, the actual shirts look a lot better than my toddler drawing so if you get one then send in a picture of you wearing it and we'll use that instead.

Angelina Face to Face has really notched The MüVs up a couple of pegs. Been in talks with producers/management and labels since it's been doing the rounds which has been exciting but I for one am ready for it to sneak up and bite me on the arse in the way this industry so loves to. Lots of you have asked me what it's about, here's the lowdown:

A few years back I fell in love with Angelina Jolie. Then one day a chorus fell out of my head and I thought I was going to write a song about me and her adopting babies all over the world. As it turns out this was a rubbish idea but I kept the chorus and wrote about making a mess of things over the phone, this particular character finds himself talking really too fast (that's why it's a kind of rap) and never getting round to dumping Ange...which he would have had no problem doing if he could handle the situation 'face to face.' If you've not heard it yet then visit The MüVs myspace or why not join us on last.fm (if you like facebook and you like music then this is where you need to be).

The really big news is there's going to be a single release coming very soon, the song's a secret just for now but if you're part of the buzz that's pushed us into putting it out then ta very much...and you'll already know what we're putting out! Don't forget to join the mailing list (at the top on the right) and get involved at themuvs.com.

Love to all xx
