Get in there!!!!!

Blew the P.A up Friday night. Not really, but we were loud enough to kill all power to the venue during an especially raucous Emily - Kate is next to me to explain the science behind this so get comfy, it's gonna be a very exciting ride!

The gig was Artesian Well in Clapham, a smallish live room above a fashionable den of inequity, packed out with young bucks, rock stars and a fantastic selection of hotties . We decided to wear suits for the evening to celebrate Hollywood's birthday and cranked the amps all the way up to eleven!!
So yeah, we played at 11 and everything turned off. Here's a picture of Hollywood (also known as Face) shouting amateurs a la Ian Brown circa 1989 - if anyone can find a video of this please send the link.

And then some very clever people turned everything back on. This was The MüVs wild like The Libertines, the set ending with Face crashing into the drums like Cobain. He really did live out his rock star fantasies and fair play to him, he played a blinder although the screams for more were met with a shrug of Steve's shoulders as he stood amidst a vintage drum kit carnage. And now here's professor Kate with the lowdown on how 5 blokes in suits caused such a racket that all the lights went out:

The decibel (dB) is used to measure sound level, but it is also widely used in electronics, signals and communication. The dB is a logarithmic unit used to describe a ratio. The ratio may be power, sound pressure, voltage or intensity or several other things. Later on we relate dB to the phon and the sone (other units related to loudness). But first, let's look at some numbers. Decibel, too many of these at Artesian Well = power off, this can also be expressed by the following formula where x is equal to your amplifier volume knob:

x>10(M+ü+V+s) = 0W

Broken my bloody computer by the way. That's why there's no Podcast and this post has been a bit slow in arriving. It's on the mend and we're working on some new stuff for your pleasure.

If you fancy a bit of what follows then come and see us play, details are here. Will be back soon with something fancy and details of an adventure....
