The scale of things...

Last night's gig was the infamous London punk venue, Hope and Anchor, Upper St. Islington. The night was marked as the first gig for new MüV Barney on the ivories, incidentally the first time we've shared a stage for 7 years since the split of that other band we were in - it was great.

set list:
Jealousy
That Boy
The Commuter
True Love
Haunting Me
Honey
Chav Song

I've played the Hope & Anchor before, January 2003. Last night I unintentionally wore the same T-shirt I did back then but I think it went unnoticed. Other than that it was a wholly different night, the only song remaining from 3-years musical growth being Jealousy. Thanks to everyone involved for making us so welcome.

Before that was a return to the River Bar on Tower Bridge. Another headline set saw The MüVs' mailing list swell although not before I managed to make a right royal tit of myself. After inviting a drummer I'd never met (but crucially, whose picture I HAD seen) to come and see The MüVs with a view to hitting some rhythm for us, my eagle eye spotted him from across a crowded bar and I made my approach. "Hi, you must be Jonny, thanks for coming, really appreciate the effort." To which came the inevitable reply, "...actually, my name's Tom. Sorry, how do I know you?"

Chav Song peaked at number 6, then to 9 and dropped out of the top ten to around 24ish. A great result for a debut entry, hope to repeat the excercise soon, many thanks for all your votes.

Next gig is Saturday 11th March at The Caernarvon Castle in Camden. There will be a party afterwards with fine looking specimens from both sexes.

In the absence of any photographic material to substantiate my claims upon the London music scene, I've instead opted to liven this post up by including a picture of me impersonating Bono with some bra packaging and quite possibily the smallest ketchup bottle ever produced (complete with 10p and finger to demonstrate true scale). Any offers for a smaller condiment bottle? Please send in your entries via the usual channels.

And finally. Congratulations to Jude and Fraser, I'm so pleased x
