Camouflage
Saturday 10th June 2006: The sun beat down, a mallet on soggy tarmac and the air as still as treacle. A gang of five boarded London's melting transport system on a mission for large screen football. Among them your protagonist - boiling like a kettle with a guitar strapped to it's back - pondered the inevitability of breaking the promise he'd made about not getting too pissed before the gig. Three members of the troup had thoughtfully dressed in camouflage therefore rendering themselves all but invisible whilst traversing London's sea of woodland and urban forestry.
Watching England was as torturous as ever but a very good friend of mine has requested that we all stay positive about our chances and don't send the team bad vibes - they can feel it man! After the game we retired to Steve 'n Gina's garden, sipped on juicy lager and ate like kings from a beautifully prepared barbecue. I sat in the shade because once again I was dressed for rock and roll and not the ball breaking English Summer.

ta for a lovely afternoon btw, well looking forward to next time!
Souncheck at 6, taxi for 3 please. Two of the crew joined me for soundcheck, we were treated to a stunning display of the consequnces associated with underage drinking in a sunstroked park as one poor girl fought the conditions through a mist of bacardi breezer rage. Remember kids, it's not big and it's not clever. We settled down to a pint.
My text message alert normally raises a smile (you can get it for yourself by emailing The MüVs here), but on this occasion the smile was quickly drawn from my mouth and replaced by a pink sliver of panic as I read that Barney was stuck on screen with Gary Lineker and would not make the gig. The set needed a quick re-work, I needed a new pint and I'd need to think of some jokes. This is me preparing...
Set list: Jealousy, Haunting Me, Honey, The Commuter, Butterfingers, True Love, Chav Song.
There was some FABULOUS support in the room that night, special thanks to Jude, Phil & Fraser - I would've done it without you but it wouldn't have been half the fun. Really enjoyed it but don't expect too many more solo performances till the band start fighting over who should have the biggest Bentley. It was a brilliant night after a brilliant day, here's some photos and as it's been so popular, the full Phunk library can be viewed here.

In other news I'd like to draw readers attention to the MySpace site for LBC Radio's "Chavvy Vicki" and in particular the song that her profile loads up with. The Chav Song has spread and you can download it for yourself here. Love and a cool breeze, The MüVs x
