and the winner is...

First of all thanks to everyone who took the time to enter our competition to title EP2. I was always expecting to get something really good out of this experiment but was almost overwhelmed with the number of entries. There were honestly LOTS more than we expected, a great way for us to gauge where we stand but also a much bigger problem choosing a winner than any of us really expected.

That aside we've now come to a decision and, in true X-Factor style, will be milking the suspense by way of revealing our top three shortlist - the winner's at the bottom:

Runner up 1 is Phil Owen in Rochdale with 'El Nacho Pea Head'.
What we particularly liked about this was that it made us laugh and therefore caught our eye, not least because of the accompanying paragraph to explain the entry which I include here: "On my recent break to LA I picked up a lovely full Mexican wrestler face mask. Whilst wearing the mask I adopt the persona of a Mexican wrestler and call myself El Nacho Pea Head; on account of the mask being green and my head being freakishly small. I can provide sample photographs for potential album art work if desired."

Runner up 2 is Elizabeth Murray with
'Marks out of 2'.
A late entry that really put the cat amongst the pigeons because we thought we'd already decided not to include any lyric in the title after discounting lots of Sweet Man Sweet variations (might keep that for the single btw). Marks out of 2 I'd give her 1 is an old saying from home which I really like saying and seemed a great choice for the EP. In the end we kept it abstract and plumped for a moment of thought from our winner..............................................:

WINNER IS JEROME BRESLIN with 'Everything's fine absolutely nothing to worry about'.
Chav Song is gonna lead the EP and apart from all the burberry/sovereign stuff looks at tolerance of each other despite our preconceptions. Everything's fine...' kind of uses this theme and works with the other tracks we're including. Jerome also kindly included a recipe for a Gazpacho soup which looks bloody brilliant.

Will be posting some of the other entries in the next days, cheers to everyone.
