First Gig
...and what a way to start!

Chav Song won an award from the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers. We got to play The Carling Academy in Islington as a result, this would be our first gig as a 5-piece in front of around 500, mostly industry bods - no pressure then! Barney delayed his holiday to make the gig, big thanks to Gemma who made that possible. Girls...they're brill.
We opened the night and for the first time in gigging history the compere announced The MüVs making proper use of that cheeky umlaut (ie he correctly pronounced us the moves) although when speaking specifically about me, I became Joano, and HER band The MüVs! The band were backstage at this point, creasing up and directing their cross-gender jokes directly at yours. I went onstage and asked the 500 punters if he'd just called me a girl, they confirmed with fits of laughter and one man's comment "that's one ugly girl!" We rocked the place to it's knees with Emily, Butterfingers, Just your luck and a down and dirty Chav Song to finish, and then retired here:
We were so well looked after, massive thanks to the academy and in particular Hannah who worked so hard and really championed Chav Song...and cheered louder than anyone in the whole venue. Interest in the band is really hotting up, next gig is Friday 22nd September at the Camden Rock Cafe. There's some more industry coming to see us so get yourselves down and scream like mad.
Been locked up in the studio with the band getting EP2 ready. You can now listen to the band make their noise over the new material on MySpace, we're very happy with it considering it has been recorded completely D.I.Y at home, in the rehearsal rooms and over the internet. There's also a fancy new bit of artwork to go with it courtesy of Tom Van design solutions.
See, we've not really been lazy, shying away from our blogging commitments. For a snapshot of what we've been upto see Podcast 7, you can expect a new and shiny live podcast sooner rather than later but if you're really that much in need of a hit then come and see us live - we're having a ball!
